Top o the mornin to ya 😝 I am SO SORE everywhere, especially in my legs! A lot of you don't know this, but I tore my hamstring when I was 16 years old. It was my first track meet of the year (indoors) and I tore it running the 4×200. I have never felt pain like that before. I could barely walk! I was in physical therapy for over a year, and even after that, I was EXTREMELY limited with what I could do. Long distance running was the only thing that didn't kill my leg (at the time, I didn't even consider weight training to be a form of working out because I was clueless lol), so that's when I fell in love with cross country, ran 10+ miles a day, and did half-marathons here and there. But time and time again, my hammy would become irritated, and I swore I would never see the day that my legs would become stronger. Well I thank the lord that I started weight lifting. It's the ONE thing that has 100% changed my quality of life, especially in terms of my recovery from such an awful injury. My hamstring has been in a lot of pain these last few days, however, and it brings back the memories of my past where I was SO limited due to injury (I barely worked out that entire year I was in therapy). It makes me remember that I should appreciate the fact that I am able to lift and workout and be healthy, and reminds me that I should never take that for granted. It took almost 4 years for me to comfortably be able to do lower body exercises, and it's taken a lot of patience because, at times, I have to hold myself back. My hamstring will never heal completely but weight training has been the BEST thing for it. So to any of you suffering from injury, I've been there. NOTHING is worse than feeling held back. But with proper rehab, patience, weight training & positivity, you will be amazed at the changes you will see! I am taking it easy this week due to my hammy hurting, but I'm still incredibly thankful to even have the ability to workout! It could always be worse, so be thankful for all the GOOD in your life ❤️

Tana Shlee
